... on the other side?

It seems like everywhere I look, everyone gets everything they want and much more. I know that's not the case, but it feels like that. And it feels like I'm the only one never getting what I want when I want it... I know everything happens in God's timing or may not happen at all. But what happens when your patience runs out. What am I supposed to do then? What happens when you are so tired of waiting, you feel like you could burst?! What am I supposed to do when nothing seems to dry my tears....

We put up our Christmas tree tonight. It's so pretty, I think anyways... But the non-fun part has begun. Benjamin Franklin has decided to climb the tree and "explore". When will he learn curiosity killed the cat?!?! I already spanked him, but that never works! I just hope he doesn't brake any ornaments like last year...

Our septic tank has been fixed! It's done!! Yay!!!! Now we just have to deal with the mess they left in our yard. There's dirt all over the place, no more grass...The bummer is that we have to wait until spring to get some grass in there... Oh well, at least I can flush the toilet again! :o)

Our day is a bit different this year. We're not doing anything with family. Neither side is able to this year. On my side, my brother in law had surgery this week, so he's in bed. And in my hubby's side, his stepdad had surgery, so he can't really eat anything. So, no turkey day for us at all. How weird! It's ok, I'm thankful for the time off, and time with my husband. I'm thankful we get to relax!

So I was thinking. Why is junk food so cheap and healthy food so expensive? Jobs these days are not paying enough, and it's so easy to get a "quick" bite to eat really cheap. McDonalds, Wendy's, Burger King, Taco Bell etc, all have dollar menu items. So everyone likes to go to one or all of those places because you can get dinner for under $5. So what happens to us? We start getting overweight. Why not just eat healthier? Well, it costs more and takes longer to prepare. I mean, think about it, there's frozen pizza, corndogs, bread... The list goes on. But fresh healthy food is harder to prepare and your grocery bill goes up. So I think there's a conspiracy to get Americans overweight. I'm not sure why yet. I gotta work on that one. But if you go to other countries, they can eat fresh veggies and fruits daily and it's cheaper than junk food. Growing up in Brazil, pizza nights and burger nights were a rare treat. We always had meat and fresh veggies. We rarely had soda. My parents never wanted to "waste" money on soda. So like once a week, if that, we'd have the treat night where we would have soda and pizza or whatever junk food we wanted. Not that I am complaining about America by any means. I LOVE this country. But they are a bit on the weak side when it comes to keeping it's citizens healthy. Why? Hummm, maybe they're trying to make us all fat so when the aliens come it's better for harvest time.... Oh my!

Well not much happening. I've been cleaning the house today. It is spotless. Until the dumb dog sheds everywhere again... I've also been doing laundry. And now I'll start cooking and baking. I'm tired. At least my house is finally clean. Our septic tank is still in the process of being fixed. On Monday the electrician will come and hook up the pump and stuff. After that we gotta get everything inspected, then we can cover the drain field and septic tank back up. Right now they're just sitting there. And there is a mound of dirt. Not much else going on. Getting ready for Thanksgiving. If it all works out, it'll be at my house this year. I'm so excited!

Just wanted to let everyone know that our septic tank will FINALLY be fixed next Monday. Yay! We are very thankful that it will be fixed just in time for thanksgiving. We are having it at our house this year. We've not had more than 2 guests at our house in one time, so it'll be exciting. There will be 7 of us (just my family). I am so excited to have them here. I have big plans as far as my table setting goes... I am exctied I'll get to use my "formal" dishes...

I need a break! I am counting the days til Christmas break! By the way, I can't believe it's almost Christmas again.. Time flies!

We had a busy Saturday. We were running errands all day. Came home to clean, do laundry, put together office chair that we bought, etc... Sometimes, I think Peter Pan had the right idea in mind.. lol Neverland would be great at times.
